No William in the Great Hall. Not that Noel cared. (He did, though.) His eyes got drawn to McGonagall instead, who seemed to be watching him and Audrey. She probably thought that he was a complete dick. First, he knocked Audrey up, and then, he ignored her. But McGonagall didn’t know the entire story - and he really didn’t want her to know. He didn’t want anyone to know. He guessed that William especially didn’t want anyone to know (considering his image-complex).
He heard Audrey speak, and he understood - but he kept quiet. Calmly he ate and drank for a minute or so before looking at her. Like really looking at her, intensely. In the eyes. It was the only way which he felt that he really could express how upset he was.
“I don’t know?”, he begun, his voice getting more tense for every word. “End the project, quit Hogwarts, get rid of the-“ He stopped himself. Even he understood that it was too far. But it slipped out, and it slipped out for a reason - he didn’t want the baby at all.

Audrey was about to interrupt his little list. Quit Hogwarts? Because of a fight between her and William? Really? Then he mentioned the last thing. Her hands went directly to her stomach. She had understood their talk yesterday wrong; he didn’t want to be with her or help her through this. Of course he didn’t, he had William now. Her mixed feelings for Noel span in her head, mocking her. She stood up, and she felt the anger rising in her body. As she stood, she bumped the table with her knees, making her glass fall, and the content ran over the table. She didn’t care.
“Fine. I messed up trying to help you, and apparently, you’re not a very forgiving person. Fine, be that way, grumpy and unable to let people off the hook. But you know my feelings about this subject, and you’re a fucking dick” she snapped, and glanced over at McGonagall, who had raised an eyebrow. Audrey sat down again. She wanted to scream, run and hide. But it wasn’t possible now, with all the teachers around, and the project still going. She looked down at her plate, feeling her eyes filling up with tears. Bloody hell. She blinked them away, took a deep breath and looked Noel in the eyes.
"I thought we had something. Apparently, I was wrong"

He was embarrassed by the scene that she caused. But she was right - he really was a dick. Fuck. Students eyes - and professors - were drawn to them. It wasn’t the first time during the project. He should’ve been used to it, to be honest.
“Oh, I’m sorry”, he mocked, completely ignoring her little rant. He was angry enough to shake it off quite easily. (It was still there in the back of his mind, though.) “I have bigger issues than our little ‘thing’ or whatever.” He looked at her for a while before turning his face down and taking another mouthful of his breakfast.

“Oh boo hoo, your issue is that you have an idiot friend and a project partner who wants to help, but you're incapable of accepting that” she said, mimicking his mocking voice.
“Why was mine and Williams fight last night such a big thorn in the side for you? He is using you, and you can’t even see it” she said and leaned back in the chair. She didn’t care that people looked, they were going to look a lot more when her baby bump started to show. She didn’t understand why Noel couldn’t forgive her for last night, or even tell her what she could do to make up for it. It had been a fight, not a murder. But then again, she wasn't very unbiased when it came to William.

“You’re fucking ridiculous”, he muttered and stood up from his chair. He wasn’t even going to care about the project anymore - fuck it. What were the professors going to do about it? Expel him? Probably not.
“The project is over”, he stated as he turned around and walked out. He felt as he was shaking with anger. He wanted to punch something - he really did, but he wasn’t that kind of guy; and he didn’t want to change his personality entirely. He walked towards the library, figured that was the place that Audrey never went to - and sat down at a table.

“Fine. Be like that!” she shouted after him, drawing more eyes towards them. She shook her head and waited a minute before she exited the Great Hall, too. She was frustrated, and went down to the lake. She sat down, and threw stones in the water. Sure, Noel had a right to be mad, but he could at least talk to her about it? No wonder he had no friends if he wasn’t able to forgive a mistake.
“We’re better off without him, anyway” she said as she put her hand on her stomach, and looked down at it. When she said it, she got a bad feeling in her body. Was this the last time she would speak to Noel? It felt like it, and she didn’t like it one bit. The part of her that had realised she liked Noel in some way took over, and she felt the tears burn in her eyes.

He had no clue what to do in the library. He hadn’t brought anything with him and he wasn’t in the mood to read, either. It would’ve looked stupid for him to just walk out directly after entering, so he stopped himself for doing so. He just sat. After a while he actually started to roam around the library, trying to find a book that sounded just mildly interesting.
“Trouble in paradise?” Noel’s roaming was interrupted. By Sean, of all people. At first Noel was just going to ignore him; but then he started thinking. Why didn’t he like Sean? Because of Audrey. Hell, he’d love to hang out with Sean just to annoy the hell out of Audrey. Sure, he had been a dick to her and all; but fuck it.
“News travel fast, eh?” He answered in a hushed tone before picking out a book and turning around to see Sean.
“Obviously”, Sean said and shrugged. “But since you’re not with the mud blood anymore, do you want to go to a party tonight?” Noel raised his eyebrows and crinkled his forehead. Was this happening? Was he actually invited to a party?
“It’s sunday”, Noel states, mostly for himself. “Yeah, whatever - I’ll come.” A smile grew on Sean’s lips and he took a few steps back.
“It’s in the room of requirement. 9 p.m.” And with not as much as a goodbye, Sean was exiting the library and Noel was invited to a party. By Sean, of all people.

When Audrey had thrown basically every stone from the ground into the water, she stood up. She had no idea what to do now. She didn’t want to see Noel, they needed some time apart. She went back to the castle, and on the way, she met Eric. He opened his mouth, but Audrey was faster.
“No, I don’t want to talk about it” she said and Eric smiled.
“I wasn’t going to say that. You need to take your mind of off things. I’ve heard there is a party tonight, want to go?” he asked and Audrey sighed. It was probably the one place where she wouldn’t see Noel, that was for sure.
“I don’t know, I have to think about it. I can’t drink either” she said, putting her hand on her stomach. Eric’s project partner joined them, and they went outside again, talking and discussing an essay they had to write.

Noel spent the day by roaming the halls, doing Prefect stuff. He also did some Arithmancy-homework (as usual). But he had his eyes on his watch the entire day; he was, strangely, excited for the party. Ugh, he was so unlike himself. Was this Noel's take on a midlife crisis? Midteen crisis? Huh.

At both lunch and dinner he sat with Klaus and his Ravenclawbuddy, Brett. They were cool, although Noel noticed that Klaus was too quiet. Was he also going through a midteen crisis? Or did he know about Noel and William? Noel surely hoped not. Especially because nothing was going to happen between them. William had completely ruined that chance. After dinner Noel went to the common room to chill out. It was really nice to not have Audrey around at all times.
Eventually the clock turned eight and Noel changed into a white t-shirt but kept his black trousers on. He looked fine, he figured. He also managed to do something about his messy hair; it now looked cute, but still a bit messy. But cute! At that point he still had half an hour before the party started so he waited out in the common room before he could leave. There, he met Sean.
"You ready for the party?" he asked, looking down at Noel who was sitting down in one of the couches. Noel nodded slowly; taking in Sean's strong scent of colone.
"Then come!" Noel was quickly on his feet, following Sean to the room of requirement.

They finally entered the room of requirement, which now had green walls. Slytherin pride, of course. Noel walked in and looked around; some Slytherin boys had already gotten there. William was one of them. Noel bit his tounge to stop himself from yelling at him and looked away. Sean now had a bottle in his hand, and he handed it to Noel.
"What is that?" Noel asked and grimaced before he reached for the bottle.
"Firewhiskey", Sean answered with a smile. At first Noel was hesistant about drinking it; but the familiar "fuck it" feeling quickly kicked in and he opened the bottle and drank. It tasted like shit, but the shitty taste disappeared after he had drunk some of it. So he continued. And continued, until Sean stopped him.
"Ey! Save some for us too!"

Audrey didn’t do much during the day; she had a hard time concentrating on anything other than the news that she slowly processed. She had already started to think about what would happen at the end of the spring semester; she would be heavily pregnant and the whole school would know. She wondered if there were a spell that could hide it. If there were, she could hide the whole pregnancy and the school would never know. Unless Noel blabbed, that was. However, Audrey had a feeling that he wouldn’t say anything, mostly because he didn’t even want to keep it.

She spent a lot of time at the edge of the Forest, since that was the only place where she would be alone. She sat there until the sun started to go down, and she thought about the party that Eric had mentioned. She wasn’t going to go, but at least she could pass the Room of Requirement, just to do something else than sitting with her thoughts. She stood up and started to walk to the castle again.

She walked up the stairs and went into one of the corridors. She walked past the wall which she knew kept the Room of Requirement behind it, and sat down on the floor a few meters from it. She wasn’t going to go in, but she wanted to feel as if she was there, dancing and drinking like the other students. That, of course, wasn’t something she could do in a long time.
