Noel started thinking. During his free time he usually talked to Klaus, roamed around the hallways, played Gobstones or hung out in the Prefects' Bathroom. However, he did not believe that Audrey would enjoy any of that. Perhaps the Prefects' Bathroom, but he wasn't allowed to bring anyone else but Prefects and Quidditchcaptains in there.
"I don't know", he said and shrugged. "If I was alone, I'd probably go to the Prefects' Bathroom. But considering..." He was going to continue with saying that since she's not permitted to go in there, she kind of ruined a part of his Friday. He realized, luckily, that it wouldn't be the nicest thing to stay and would probably cause some stupid argument. They have had enough of those already. Not that he believed that they wouldn't have more of them.
He let his own sentence hang in the air and tried to pull his hand through his dark, messy hair. His hair was way to messy for doing so, which made him look quite dumb.

Audrey snorted when she tried to not laugh.
“I do not want to know what you’re doing in the Prefects Bathroom alone on a Friday evening” she said and laughed. She shook her head.
“Yeah that won’t work. Not that I would have wanted to go there anyway” she said and sniggered.
“Well, I can’t think of any activity we can do together except eat, walk or swim in the lake” she said and rolled her eyes. Was that going to be her leisure the next few weeks? Walking around and eating all the time? She sighed.
“Or going to tonight’s party, but since it’s not by the rulebook, it’s probably not something Mr Prefect wants to do” she said and shrugged. She knew that the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws had a party that evening, and she really wanted to go. So bad that she even invited Mr Stiff to it.

Audreys comments embarrassed him, because well... The Prefects' Bathroom was one of the few places at Hogwarts where one could get some privacy. It suddenly went up for him just how hard the coming weeks would be. Seriously, zero privacy. What did Dumbledore think? They are teenagers, and teenagers need privacy. Desperately. Especially Noel.

"A party?" the truth was that Noel had never been invited to a party before. It probably wasn't that surprising, actually. He played by the rules. Always. "Who's hosting?" He wasn't actually interested in going. He was just curious. If it was a Ravenclaw-party, he was sure that Klaus would go.

“Eric Smulders, from Ravenclaw. My best friend, for the record” said Audrey and smiled. Eric was famous within the Ravenclaw and Gryffindor community for hosting great parties. She looked at him and smiled.
“So, is Mr Prefect up for it?” she asked, a bit surprised actually. She never thought that Noel was a party person, he seemed more like a sitting in a corner reading a book guy, but people could surprise you. She hoped he would want to go, because she didn’t want to force him. She was going to do it if she had to, though.

She scratched her neck. She couldn’t wait to get out of her uniform and slip into a nice dress and socialize with her friends. She looked at Noel, hoping for a positive answer.

Noel had no clue who Eric Smulders was, strangely. Very strange, because they obviously have had lessons together for years. He looked up at Audrey and calmly shook his head. He started thinking about it all in a Prefect point of view. Was it his duty to report the planned party to a professor? It probably was, but he would actually hate to do it. Just because he didn't like parties (which he couldn't know, because he hadn't attended one) he didn't want to be a party pooper. But if it was his duty...
"Are you serious?" he asked her, keeping his voice down. "I'm a Prefect, I obviously can't go!"

Audrey groaned and rolled her eyes.
“Seriously? You take your duties that serious? Don’t you ever want to have fun?” she asked and made some gestures with her arms before crossing them across her chest.
“I bet your friend Klaus is there, I’ve seen him there before. You don’t want to drag him under the bus, do you?” she said and raised an eyebrow. She just wanted to make sure that he wasn’t going to snitch to the teachers. Not that he knew where the party was, so he couldn’t point the teachers to the right direction anyway.
“Just forget your Prefect duties for once and do what other Prefects do: let your hair down” she said and sniggered. She had seen some of the Prefects on these parties, and they had never told anyone.

Her mentioning that she had seen Klaus at some parties didn't really shock Noel. He was social, of course he hung out with other people than just Noel. How couldn't he have even considered that before?
"I'm not a party person", he said and shrugged. Audrey could not say that he was. "Besides, I value being a Prefect more than..." He was originally going to say 'than to have fun', but even he realized how ridiculous it sounded.
"I just can't go."

Audrey stared at him, and she started to get really pissed. So, this guy was going to ruin her social life? She crossed her arms and looked at him.
“If you don’t want to have fun, then come up with something we can do” she said shortly and watched his face. The party was still going to be on fire when she could blame tiredness and get out of his company at like, 10pm.
“Preferably nothing that includes getting bored while doing it” she said, and considered mocking Gobstones again. She was pissed, after all, so why not trigger him a bit? She sat down on the table behind her, still looking at him.
“Have you always been this boring? Or is it something that came with puberty?” she asked, even though she knew he didn't like sarcasm. Deal with it, dude.

What was her problem? She couldn't actually have thought that he would agree to go. He enjoys playing by the rules, probably just as much as she enjoyed breaking them.
"Watch it", he said, trying to sound like a person of authority. He really got hurt by the things she said, something that he would never admit to. "I can draw points from Gryffindor." Not that his threat worked the last time he used it, but it was all he had. He couldn't threaten her with anything else. And he couldn't humiliate her like she could with him. Audrey was, simply, better than him. Social, athletic.... And he supposed that people actually liked her.

Audrey looked at him. Like she cared that he could take points from Gryffindor. However, she realised that the comment about him being boring might have hurt him, but she was really pissed. She raised her eyebrow.
“Come on, make a suggestion. I don’t want to sit in the library the whole evening. You’re lucky I’m even giving you an opportunity to propose an activity. Usually I would have dragged you with me to the party” she said and sniggered. There was only one reason she didn’t drag him with her, and that was because of the risk of him snitching about their secret party place, and she didn’t want to be the one responsible for that. Imagine the parry host’s best friend, ruining all possible future parties. It wouldn’t look good. Most of the Ravenclaws and Gryffindors at the parties understood her, or at least didn’t get offended of her jokes. She could also talk to them about Quidditch, which always was popular. She couldn't claim that she was popular, but at least they didn't hate her, as Noel apparently did.
