You could be pregnant, he thought. But she couldn’t be, right? She was just sick - everyone got sick sometimes. It didn’t matter whether she had gotten infected by him or not - she was just sick. Sick. Not.. Not pregnant. But the thought couldn’t leave his head. Holy hell, what if she actually was pregnant?
“Are you on birth control?” he blurted out before he could stop himself. Merlin, he had put himself in an awkward situation. He could already feel it.

Audrey looked at him, surprisingly.
“Yeah, of course I am” she said and looked at him. Did he really think that she was that irresponsible? However, she started to think about what he said, and what it meant. Did he think she was pregnant? It couldn’t be, right? She was on birth control. She stood up. She turned around towards him.
“Why do you ask?”

Of course she was. She wasn’t stupid. Of course she was on birth control. He swallowed.
“I don’t know”, he lied and shrugged. “Nothing.” He dropped his gaze from Audrey to the book again, in an attempt to avoid her.

Audrey started to panic, Noel had really scared her with his question; she hadn’t thought about it.
“I need the loo” she said and turned around and went into the bathroom again. She sat down on the toilet lid and took a deep breath. She looked at the sink, and the Room of Requirement had probably felt her fear and confusion. There was a pregnancy test on the sink. She swallowed hard, and took the test. She sat down on the lid again, and held the test in her (shaking) hand. Two minutes. They were the longest two minutes in her life. She took a deep breath and looked down at the little square on the white stick. It had a blue plus sign. Well, at least she wasn’t ill because of something she had eaten. Fuck.

Audrey freaking out made Noel freak out again. Birth control was supposed to keep her from becoming pregnant, right? So she couldn't be pregnant, right? She disappeared into the bathroom and Noels heart begun to beat faster. He was a Prefect for Merlin's sake, he shouldn't have to worry about things like that! Because things like that weren't supposed to happen to Prefects...

Audrey took a deep breath, and held the little white stick in her hand when she emerged from the bathroom.
“It seems like the Room of Requirement felt me panicking” she said, and held up the stick, but still covering the square with the result. She swallowed.
“Well, birth control is only 99% safe, and it seems like your swimmers are pretty good ones” she said jokingly, but she still had a bit of a shaky voice. She held the stick out in front of her to see.

She came out of the bathroom again and held a white stick in her hand. He looked at it and listened to her at the same time. Fuck. Shit. Crap. It couldn't be true. Something had to be wrong. Was she pranking him? Probably not though, if she wasn't a really good actress.
"Merlin", was the only thing that he could say before resting his face in his hands. What was he supposed to do?

Audrey was still in some kind of shock. She sat down in the sofa, and stared out in the air. She was going to be a mum. A young one, at that. She looked at Noel, she couldn’t read his facial expression, because he had covered his face with his hands. She put her hands on her stomach. There was a life in there, or at least soon.
“This changes a lot” she said and scratched her head.

He couldn't become a father. Not at his young age. His parents would be so disappointed; but history does repeat itself.
"You don't have to keep it", he said, dropping his hands from his face. It was probably a really douchy thing to say; but he didn't want to become a dad. He couldn't.

Audrey looked at him.
“Don’t have to keep it? It’s a baby, of course I have to keep it, I want to keep it!” she said and stood up. She groaned and started to walk around in circles. She stopped, and looked at him.
“You don’t have to be a part of it, I can handle myself” she said and bit her lip. She had heard about tons of single mums that could handle it well, why couldn’t she?
