He didn't get disappointed at all when she said that she didn't want to fly anymore. He felt relief. Not that he thought that she would make him fly but - who knew? Plus, just watching would be really boring.
"Mr Prefect", he imitated. "Ms... Mysterious-scar-on-the-neck." He tried to be funny, but he probably wasn't. He had a terrible sense of humor, one that only Klaus could tolerate. He actually laughed sometimes.

"Uh... I suppose that you can-" he stopped himself and looked at her with a stupid grin. "I guess that you have to follow me doing my Prefect-duties." He kind of had the power, which he really loved. His duties as a Prefect were more important than anything that she would possibly want to do. Technically, she couldn't make him do anything, while he could make her do anything. (Okay, not really. He could make her follow him telling first graders that they need to go to class, but it was something.)

She raised her eyebrows, and was really close of punching him in his face. She wondered what he would do if she did. Probably run and tell Dumbledore, and she would get detention for the next couple of weeks. It would be worth it though. However, she kept a calm face.
“I guess so, your very important job of telling other students to tuck their shirt in while they whisper for you to piss off behind your back, must be a marvellous job” she said and started to walk towards the castle again. She would never have been a good fit as a Prefect, she never understood the concept of one student, telling another what to do only because the teachers had given him or her that power.

She was annoyed with his grin, he looked at her as if he was superior of her, which he was not. She knew, however, that no teacher would be on her side if she wanted to do something that collided with his Prefect duties, and that sucked. She wondered if Prefects were out the Castle during the night. She didn’t think so, she had only hidden from teachers and ghosts when she was out, but she couldn’t tell for sure. If that was the case, she would for the first time not break the rule by being out in the castle during the night, at least.

He stopped behind her. He hadn't put it in that perspective before. Did the students dislike him because he did his Prefect-duties?
"Shut up!" he exclaimed, still not walking. "They do not talk bad about me!" He almost opened his mouth out of shock. Luckily, he didn't. Even he realized that it would've looked strange.

He started to hate Dumbledore's project even more. Did that old man realize what he did to his students? Or more specifically, what he did to his little perfect Slytherin Prefect boy™? He would be completely ruined when the project was over.
Did anyone ever think that some people don't want and/or need friends? He only needed Klaus. He didn't need to hang out with a Gryffindor girl with a stupid, mysterious scar. He didn't need to hang out with any Gryffindor. Or with any girl.

Audrey heard him speak, and reacted when he told her to shut up. She stopped and turned around. She looked surprised at him, she had apparently stepped on his toes. Good to know.
“Merlins bread, who is overreacting now? I didn’t say it was you, only the Prefect job in general. You can’t say that everybody will love you when you give people detentions and take points off their Houses because of small incidents? People get stiff whenever there is a Prefect around, and there is a reason for it. You guys are like the teachers’ spies, and some of us is not very fond of it” she said and raised her eyebrows.
“You need to chill for a bit, I bet everybody loves you” she said with an undertone of sarcasm. She didn’t understand why he reacted so hard, did he really think that all students loved the Prefects? Most of them had no problems with them, but others didn’t like the teachers’ elite group. She shook her head and looked at him. It was fun to drive him mad, she should try it more often during this project.

"I am not overreacting", he said, trying not to sound upset. (Guess what? He failed.) She totally ruined the entire Prefect-thing for him. He thought that people appreciated him, but... Well, what did he think? Everything that she said was true. He didn't even like the Prefects that much himself, before he became one. How could he have been so dumb?
"Whatever. Can you just...", he started but stopped himself, thinking about all the responses he could get from her about what he was about to say. "...stop it with the sarcasm?" he asked, although it didn't really sound like a question. It was more like a demand. The Prefect "job" had made him make his questions sound more like demands. Oh Merlin, Prefects are horrible!

“You’re totally overreacting. And by the way, I’m not going to stop being who I am because you can’t handle some sarcasm. It’s your problem, not mine” she said and raised her eyebrows. Well, at least she knew how far she could go now. But she could always push it a bit more, just for the fun of it.
“And what are you going to do? Complain and say you can’t be my partner because you can’t handle the way I speak? For some reason I don’t think that is a valid excuse” she said and looked at his blue-grey eyes. She hadn’t realised they were blueish until now. She snapped out of it, what was she thinking?

“I think it’s time to get to class, and for the record, I don’t like being told what to do by someone who’s not superior. You know there is a thing called ask nicely, right?” she said and crossed her arms over her chest. It was true, though. If he had asked, and not demanded, she might have reacted a bit differently. Now, it was just fun to drive him as close to the edge as possible, just to piss him off. Sometimes she wondered how she had become such a mean person.

"Die", he muttered under his breath. He obviously didn't want her to die, but he couldn't express his feelings with another word. She was the most annoying person that he'd ever met. Dumbledore was a man that Noel usually looked up to, but now he saw no reason as to why he ever would.

"Well, I am superior", he said and probably sounded cocky. He actually didn't mean to, this time. "I can give and take points, you know." Not that he used that power so often. He didn't know why he didn't use it. If he was smart, he would've used it all the time. Make the students afraid of him. He could really have the power. Oh well, why would power be so great? He was grateful for the little power he already had. Besides, he didn't want the students to be afraid of him. Just a little, maybe.

“You’re not superior to me, especially not only because a teacher gave you the power to take points from my House. Yeah, that’s what you can do, but that’s it. You can’t tell me what to do” she said and looked at him. This was apparently a really sensitive subject for him. She would stop talking about it, but she just didn’t like that he was so damn smug about it. She sighed. She didn’t like that they were fighting. Was this really how the next few weeks were going to be like? They fighting over everything and just disliking each other? She didn’t want it, and she was sure he didn’t either, but both of them seemed to be way to proud to stop.

She looked at her watch.
“Well, class starts soon, that’s and hour of me not having to listen to you, but I feel bad for the poor soul who has to” she said and regretted it almost instantly (almost, she was still pretty content with her sentence). She really tried not to fight, but she just had to. It was something with the way Noel made her feel, she had to push him.

He hated that she made his power sound like nothing. Like, fuck off, please? According to Noel, she was the entire problem in the project. She was rude and she was the Gryffindor. He was kind and the only "negative" aspect of him was that he was a Prefect.
"Shut up", he said, seemingly annoyed. He looked down at his own uniform and tightened his tie before he looked at hers. "And please tuck in your shirt." Merlin! Could these typical Prefect things stop falling out of his mouth?!

Their next class was Charms, one of his best subjects. Even though he was good at it, he didn't like it much. It was just so... Basic? Ugh, he really didn't know.

She laughed and shook her head.
“See? At least it was a bit better with the please in it” she said. She hated the fact that her shirt actually needed to be tucked in, which meant that he had been given a point. She didn’t like the way he told her to shut up, but she guessed that she deserved it. She had been a pain in the arse, after all. When he had passed her, she quickly tucked in her shirt and walked behind him to class.

She liked Charms, and she was good at it. They were practicing one by one. She wondered what had happened if they were paired up with their new “friends”. She and Noel had probably been throwing different charms at each other. She concentrated for the whole hour and almost forgot about the whole project when the school bell rang. She looked over at Noels, and said to herself to at least try to be nice. She walked up to him and cleared her throat.
“Anything duties you need to do before next class?” she said nicely, without any tone of sarcasm. She really struggled, but she managed to not laugh, or say something rude. She tried to be as nice as possible, and forget the fight they had had. It was hard though, because she really wanted to roast him some more about his so-called duties. But she had decided to be the better person in this game.
