She had quite the conspiracy going on. None of it was true, though. He only said that he was sorry because he genuinly was, for laughing. But if he had said more, if he had tried to explain himself in that moment, he would've burst out in tears. And he wouldn't let himself do that. He looked up at her, sticking his gaze at her forehead, to avoid the horrible eye contact. How could she believe all of this of him? Had he been that horrible to her? He took a deep breath and cleared his throat to avoid his voice breaking again.
"I didn't plan this at all", he said, every cell in his body hoping that she would believe him. "It wasn't a game. They just did what they did and I did not have any part in it." He took some steps closer to her, seeing her knuckles more clearly. It looked terrible. She looked weak. He wasn't used to that picture of her. He really didn't like it, either. bleh 11 mar, 2018 14:10 |

Audrey looked at him, and instinctively tried to back away when he moved forward. However, that was hard to do sitting down and with a wall behind you. “Okay, fine. You were just drawn into it in the moment, but how the hell did they know? I haven’t heard any rumours about me for a long time, and those I’ve heard have had nothing to do with fire. It’s not that I’m very talkative about that” she said. She let her left hand hold her right wrist, and tried to flex her right hand. She grimaced when she did, the pain shot up through her body and to her brain, screaming for her to stop. She let her right hand fall down to the floor. She pushed the tears that threatened to spill any second down in her tear canals again. She wouldn’t give Noel that satisfaction, she was already so freaking vulnerable as she sat on the floor, hurting in all possible ways. She had no idea that her body could feel this way. It felt like her brain was going to explode any second now. 11 mar, 2018 14:24 |

He was immediately thrown back to the party, when Sean had told him about Audrey's old school and the fire... He hadn't believed it. He had believed Audrey's story. Apparantly she had lied. He could almost see the shots of pain going through her body and he grimaced. It was like her pain was his; silly, but that was how it felt.
"It doesn't matter, okay?" he said, kneeling in front of her. "We need to get you to Madame Pomfrey." For the first time that morning, he wanted her blue eyes to meet his blue-green. He wanted to look her in the eyes. Even through the guilt, he wanted it. bleh 11 mar, 2018 14:36 |

She shook her head. “But it does matter!” she exclaimed and looked at him, “if there is a rumour out there, it could be, and probably is, an insane story that puts me in a bad light. The only one who knows the whole story is Eric, and he wouldn’t spread it. Which means that if someone is talking about it, it’s wrong” she said and shook her head. She looked at him as he kneeled in front of her. She looked at him in his eyes, considering of daring him to laugh at her now. She didn’t though. He was just being helpful. “I don’t need Madam Pompfrey. It’ll heal” she said and looked at her knuckles, which were pretty messed up though. They weren’t broken, luckily, but the blood was a fact. What would you expect when skin meets a stone wall? She looked up at the wall, where her bloody marks stained the stones. 11 mar, 2018 14:45 |

He nodded, pretending to agree with her, just trying to calm her down. She'd been put through too much emotional stress for one morning, she needed to calm down. Even Noel got that.
"You sure? She can probably make it heal faster", he almost whispered. He didn't know why. It was quite the contrast to Audrey's loudness. Maybe that's why he whispered. His gaze flickered back and forth from her left eye to her right; and he kind of got deeper and deeper in them for every second. Without thinking, it was like his brain shut off, he gently took both her hands in his. bleh 11 mar, 2018 14:51 |

“I don’t care, I afflicted it upon myself, I need to deal with it” she said and groaned when he took her hands in his, the pain was really harsh. She looked at him. “I can’t face anyone now. I think I’m going to stay here for the rest of the year and not come back for my seventh year” she said, laughing dryly and looked up in the ceiling. Most of the whole freaking school had seen her freak out, the shame, and rumours, would probably never go away. Why did she have to be Audrey right now? She would do anything to be someone else, or just disappear and never come back. It would probably be worth of losing her magical powers to make this day non-existent. 11 mar, 2018 14:58 |

He didn't let go of her hands, even though it seemed to hurt. The feeling of her hands in his; he had to admit that he liked it. He let out a soft laugh when she did. Not because he found it particularly funny, more because he felt that it would help her relax. He figured that she liked joking around. He did too - just not that much. His gaze dropped to their hands for a brief second before he looked her in the eyes again.
"You remember what I told you last night?" he asked, not embarrased about it anymore. He was happy that he had said it, for some reason. "I meant it." bleh 11 mar, 2018 15:05 |

“I bet you did, before you saw the true Audrey” she said and looked up at the ceiling again. “If that idiot hadn’t sent me the letter, this thing hadn’t happened” she said, blaming the stupid warden for this whole incident. She blew out air from her nose. “Well, if it weren’t from my parents, this thing hadn’t happened either” she said, bumping the back of her head softly against the wall. It was their fault, after all. She stopped bumping her head, and returned her gaze to Noel. “I bet you can get rid of the whole project now, just talk to McGonagall, and she’ll probably just end it for the both of us. Lucky, right?” she grinned, flexing her right hand even though the pain told her not to. 11 mar, 2018 15:12 |

She didn't seem to understand him. He truly meant it. He wanted to show her that she really mattered, at least to him. Probably to other people, too.
"You don't get it, do you?" once again his gaze dropped down. He let go of her hands. "I don't want to get rid of the project." All of a sudden he felt insecure. Insecure about his messy hair, the bags under his eyes, the gap between his teeth. It felt like she was judging him. Not only by what he said, but by the way he looked. Was he over-analyzing the whole situation? bleh 11 mar, 2018 15:17 |

Audrey looked at him, confused. He had been as pissed about this project as she had, and he had clearly been showing her that. Not that she had been any better. She sighed. “I do get it. I’m just confused about my own feelings about it. Look around. You are the only person here. If we hadn’t been in this project, I would be sitting here alone” she said and looked in his eyes, and now she confessed to herself that they were beautiful. She left out the part that Eric probably would have been here if he had seen the incident, but she knew that Noel would get that. She was just trying to prove a point. “I’m not a person magnet, and for good reasons. I’m fucked up, and that’s an understatement” she said and smiled a little. She shook her head and laughed. “I can’t imagine how ridiculous it must have looked though, freaking out over a fire as small as a candle light” she said. Her laugh was actually genuine. There it was again, joking around to protect herself. God, would she ever stop? 11 mar, 2018 15:24 |
